Senior Fermentation Scientist

We are in search of a dedicated Fermentation Scientist to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for running and maintaining bench scale fermenters, bioprocess design and optimisation

• Carry out any other ad hoc laboratory work as required
• Working with strict health and safety processes

EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Hands-on biology laboratory experience including running bioreactors, bioprocess design and optimisation and DOE
• Experience with running bench scale (1-10L) fermenters
• Ability to problem solve
• An understanding of the importance of following and writing SOPs

Nice to have

• Experience with protein production, protein purification, downstream processing of fermenter broth, fermentation scale-up 
• Experience with running pilot scale fermenters
• Previous work in industry, especially in a high-growth startup within a disciplinary team

EDUCATION

Either of:

• Bachelor’s degree in biology science or related fields plus industry experience or
• Master’s or PhD in biochemical engineering, microbiology, biotechnology, or related areas
